Air India has started commencing regular flights from Delhi to Pathankot from 5 April, 2018. The flights will be operated three days a week i.e. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Flights will depart at 9:55 am from Delhi and reach Pathankot at 11:30 am. On the same day, it will depart at 11.50 am from Pathankot and will return to Delhi at 13.35 pm. Air India has deployed a 72 seater aircraft on the sector. With half the total aircraft capacity set aside under the Regional Connectivity Scheme, 36 seats are available at the discounted fare of Rs. 2,699, inclusive of taxes.
Commencing of regular flights to Pathankot airport has made connectivity with the nearby areas like Chamba and Dalhousie which will help tourists to travel easily to these areas without the panic of long hours of travelling. Being on a distance of 70 km from Delhi, Chamba was earlier a far flung area to be travelled on road. But by the commencing of direct flights from Delhi to Pathankot, reaching Chamba will become quite feasible for the travelers and tourists to get enchanted by its splendid beauty without the haste of travelling on road for long hours. We thank, the Government for such great initiative which will open new gates for prosperous tourism in nearby areas like Chamba and Dalhousie.
